Our Mission Statement

Our mission is to ensure all our customers can safely work at height by providing unrivalled industry expertise, high quality machinery, first-class aftercare and a grá (love) for developing customer relationships.

Our Story

Aerial Platform Hire was established by two brothers, Nicholas and Andrew Davin, in 1979.

Our company began trading in 1980 from two small locations in Cork city and Donegal town.

The Davins were leaders of the access industry in Ireland and supplied the first JLG self-propelled boom lifts to the hire market. These booms were delivered to the Alcan Project in Foynes, County Limerick, and within one year Aerial Platform Hire had increased its fleet size to 21 units.

In 1983, we moved to our main depot in Clane, County Kildare, as interest and demand for access equipment increased within the construction, commercial and manufacturing industries.

Over the next 40 years, Aerial Platform Hire and our sister company Access Platform Sales built a long-standing relationship with JLG Industries as their main sales and service dealers.

We bought the first 80H+6 diesel telescopic boom that JLG ever manufactured and pioneered many new specialist products from Niftylift. In the early 1990s, we opened our second depot in Mallow, County Cork, followed by a smaller holding depot in Donegal town. Our Clane site was then substantially extended in 2006.

In 2022, Aerial Platform Hire became a wholly owned subsidiary of Briggs Equipment Ireland Ltd.
